Building Multiple Streams of Internet Income

Growing up my teachers and parents alike kept telling me to focus. Focus on homework or focus on practicing for sporting events like baseball or football. There is a tendency for people who are in business for themselves to want to do the same. Most often than not, focusing on your primary business is a great thing to do. When you are in the arena of affiliate marketing or network marketing, it is a good idea to establish multiple streams of internet income. Having multiple streams of internet income means you are not putting all of your eggs in one basket.

Diversification of your Internet Income portfolio
People diversify in lots of ways in their daily lives. Most financial assets like 401ks are best setup when they are diversified across several different types of stocks, bonds or mutual funds. Just like the wealth you are building, your online presence should be diverse as well. Think about what would happen if an affiliate marketing company that you promoted went and shut down. Where would that leave you? Out in the cold. Be sure your website and business plan is flexible enough to handle the unexpected if it should arise. Building Multiple Streams of Internet Income

Duplication Plus Improvement
When you are building your internet empire look at what others have done before you. No doubt you found a compelling website that offered you information on how to build multiple streams of internet income and although you may have needed some convincing, you decided to join the program and build your own online business. Something about that first interaction (or the 40th one) grabbed your attention and made you realize what opportunities there are in making money online. Why not use those same type of attention grabbing experiences for your own website. In the website development world it is called “clone and own”. Obviously I am not telling you to go out and copy content and use it for your own website, Im only telling you to use the successful best practices of those who are listed on the front page of google searches and adapt them for your own website. Do not re-invent the wheel and try to go from scratch. Use what works. Use what you can tell would pull you in. Duplicate to some degree but also improve.

Stay Within the Framework
While you need to branch out and ensure you are not locked into a single company, you need to be sure you are not promoting two or more different programs that are not closely related. Why would anyone come to a website that is setup to promote affiliate links for iTunes songs and videos then on the next page it is asking you to review a web hosting company? Keep the programs and projects within the same framework of what you are looking to do. You do not want to adversely affect your source of internet income.

More Promotion Equals More Money
The more ways to advertise or try to bring in internet income, the more ways you will earn an income on the internet. Simple right? It may take longer to develop your web presence, but if you focus on creating the content for each effort you support, then you can become successful in several different areas. Your multiple streams of internet income will be setup to help you succeed if you can focus on what is important. Know that display advertising is for the monster companies that have a lot of marketing dollars to throw at huge marketing campaigns. As a home based business trying to make an extra few hundred or thousand dollars per month, you do not need to throw any money at display advertising or banner ads. That would be a huge waste of money. Focus on creating valuable content for your readers and make the content compelling enough that more traffic is coming to your website each month. More traffic equals more sales which is more money in your pocket.
